Purpose of data collection

The responsible office collects and processes personal data for a variety of purposes, for instance for the registration for and organization of events for the certification course “Data Science Certificate Program”, for the subscription of a newsletter, or for the dispatch of an event brochure.

a) Registration for events for advanced scientific training
You can make a binding registration for participation in our advanced training events. We have installed a special registration form for such events on our webpage. The personal data transmitted to us in this way are used to complete the registration/booking procedures, to deliver the service, and to fulfil the contract purposes in general. In detail, the following specific data may be processed:

Salutation
Title
Surname
Name
Company name/Organization name
Street
Zip code
Ort
E-Mail
Phone number
Business segment
Position
Branch/Field

By transmitting the corresponding data to us, you grant us permission to process these data for the specific purpose. To this extent the General Terms and Conditions apply supplementarily.

b) Newsletter for receiving information on events
You have the option to have us send you information on our program of advanced training events in the form of our regularly published newsletter. For this purpose we used the so-called double opt-in procedure. The double opt-in procedure comprises two specific stages. In the first stage, you enter your email address in the registration form and send it to us. When we receive this email, a confirmation email is sent back to the email address you have just used. In this confirmation email you are asked a second time to expressly declare that you wish to receive the newsletter by email. Only when you promptly reply to this request will your email address be saved and used. If we receive no response from you within four days, you must repeat the registration procedure.

The personal data you send us are used for the dispatch and administration of the newsletter. In detail, the following specific data may be processed:

Salutation
Title
Surname
Name
E-Mail

You can unsubscribe the newsletter at any time by sending an email to the contact address, by sending an informal email to weiterbildung@lmu.de to unsubscribe, or directly by using the unsubscribe option in the newsletter itself.

c) Contact form for postal dispatch of the advanced training brochure
You can contact us directly to receive our brochure “LMU-Weiterbildung für Fach- und Führungskräfte” (Advanced training program for technical and executive employees of LMU Professional Training) by post. We have installed a corresponding form for this on our webpage. The personal data transmitted to us in this way are used for the postal dispatch of the brochure. In detail, the following specific data may be processed:

Salutation
Title
Surname
Name
Company name/Organization name

You can unsubscribe the brochure at any time by sending an email to the contact address or by sending an informal email to weiterbildung@lmu.de.

For the dispatch of the brochure we may outsource the services to so-called enveloping, labelling, and/or mail-handling service providers. These third parties are pledged to use the transmitted data one time only, exclusively for the provision of their services, and then to delete them directly afterwards. The provisions of the GDPR are observed.
